Forecast from Open-Meteo. Mountain conditions change fast; check again before you go.

Starting at Newfound Gap, this stretch of the Appalachian Trail rolls along the state-line ridge through spruce-fir forest to Charlies Bunion, a jagged knob where the trees fall away and the Smokies open up in every direction. The footing gets rocky and the drop-offs are real, so mind your step at the overlook. A parking tag is required park-wide.
